Paint Protection Film in Sydney

Clear PPF. Careful installation. Protection for the road ahead.

WRAPSTYLE SYDNEY / PAINT PROTECTION

A Replaceable Layer for Your Paint

Paint protection film adds a replaceable layer between suitable paintwork and everyday road exposure. It can reduce damage from smaller stone strikes and light surface abrasion, while preserving the appearance of the paint beneath it. It does not make a vehicle damage-proof.

At WrapStyle Sydney, the adhesive-material experience we have built since 2012 informs the whole installation, from the first inspection to the finishing of an accessible edge.

Full Painted-Body PPF From A$5,720 Including GST. This starting price applies to a small car using Opti-Shield paint protection film. Your final quote depends on the vehicle’s size and complexity, selected film and agreed coverage. XPEL film options are priced higher. Premium film selections and more extensive coverage can take the total above A$10,000. Suitable trim and any additional areas are quoted separately. We confirm the film, preparation and covered areas with you before work begins.

Discuss the coverage, finish options and preparation for your vehicle.

Installing PPF Since 2012

Our team includes XPEL-certified and Avery Dennison-certified installers. Our Head Installer is also an Avery Dennison PPF trainer in NSW.

Choose Gloss, Satin or a New Colour

Clear gloss PPF lets the existing colour remain visible and provides a gloss finish. Satin PPF changes the sheen of suitable gloss paint for a softer appearance. Neither option changes the underlying paint colour in the same way as a coloured wrap.

If changing the colour is part of your brief, coloured PPF offers another route. Full vehicle coloured PPF starts from A$7,700 including GST. We help compare the samples, coverage and installation implications before you choose.

Choosing a Film on the Evidence That Matters

We discuss PPF from XPEL, Avery Dennison, GSWF, LLumar and Optic Shield, with the exact product and availability confirmed for the job. The brand name is only part of the choice. Clarity, gloss, surface texture, installation characteristics, care requirements and manufacturer support all matter.

XPEL and Avery have been strong choices in our work because we like the finishes we have achieved with them and value the support behind the products. That is our installation experience, rather than a claim that one brand is universally superior. We can show you samples and explain why a particular film suits your brief.

Protection With Realistic Limits

PPF adds a replaceable, sacrificial layer over suitable paintwork. It can reduce damage from smaller stone strikes and light surface abrasion, but it does not make a vehicle damage-proof.

PPF is fitted by hand to a three-dimensional object. Some geometry needs a visible edge, join or relief cut. Small finishing details may be apparent close up even when the installation looks clean at normal viewing distance.

Before you accept the job, we show you the actual areas on your vehicle where those details are likely. The aim is to protect the paint and achieve a careful finish with realistic expectations, not promise that every part will look exactly like uncovered paint.

Self-Healing & Damaged Panels

Selected films can reduce fine topcoat marks under the manufacturer’s specified conditions. A deep cut, puncture or damaged paint beneath the film does not self-heal. Contact us if the film has been damaged so we can assess the affected area.

Impact size, speed and shape affect the outcome. The film is a sacrificial layer; heavy impacts and sharp debris can damage the film and the surface beneath it.

We inspect the film and the paint beneath it. Replacing the affected panel’s film may be possible if the paint remains sound. Where paint or bodywork needs repair, that work comes first. Coverage under warranty depends on the cause, not simply on the presence of a damaged panel.

Coverage Options & Pricing

When the budget allows, full coverage is our preferred approach because exposure is not limited to the front of a car. Side panels and other areas can still encounter road debris or everyday contact.

Front-end protection is a useful budget option. We identify the actual panels in the package and discuss additional high-contact areas where appropriate. A package name is not a substitute for a written list of inclusions. Roofs, trim, door openings and other details are included only where agreed and suitable for the selected product.

Front-End Protection: Front bumper, full bonnet, front guards and mirrors, with the exact inclusions confirmed for your vehicle.

Extended Front Protection: Front-end coverage plus selected high-contact areas, such as side skirts, wheel-arch and pillar areas, where agreed and suitable.

Full Painted-Body PPF: From A$5,720 including GST for a small car using Opti-Shield paint protection film. Your final quote depends on the vehicle’s size and complexity, selected film and agreed coverage. Suitable trim and additional areas are quoted separately. Panoramic glass roofs are excluded. Other surfaces and installation details are confirmed in the quotation.

Inspection, Preparation & Fitment

We begin by looking over the vehicle with you. Existing chips, scratches, dents, repairs, resprayed panels and coatings need to be understood before film goes on. We note the condition and agree a signed condition report so there is a record of what was present at the start.

We also ask what matters most to you. A daily driver, a special weekend vehicle and a car used in more demanding conditions may need different priorities. Coverage, appearance, budget and your expectations about edges are discussed together.

Preparation & Practical Pattern Work

Preparation includes cleaning the areas to be covered and addressing contamination that would interfere with adhesion. Existing coatings, old film and paint condition can create additional work. Where correction or repairs are required, those are discussed and scoped rather than assumed to be included.

Before cutting, the installer reviews the patterns and adjusts them for practical edge coverage and the actual vehicle. A template is a starting point. It does not replace an installer deciding how a piece of film should finish around a particular panel.

We extend and tuck edges where the panel design allows a reliable installation. Stretch, tension, access and the behaviour of the film all need to be considered. An edge that looks concealed on handover but cannot remain stable is not the result we want.

Dismantling Is Agreed Case by Case

Some components can be removed safely to improve access; others introduce unnecessary risk or cost. We discuss suitable dismantling before installation rather than promising that every panel or fitting will be removed.

Where practical, suitable handle removal can help avoid a slit through the film. Badges may remain in place with a cut-around pattern, or be removed and refitted where agreed. Replacement badges can cost extra, and adhesion when refitting over film may differ from adhesion to paint. These details belong in the scope before the work starts.

Ceramic Coating, on Its Own or Alongside PPF

PPF With Ceramic Coating

For our most comprehensive paint-protection approach, we recommend PPF with a compatible ceramic coating on top. The film helps reduce stone-chip damage and light surface abrasion, while the coating adds a water-repellent surface that makes routine cleaning easier.

Partial PPF With Ceramic on the Remaining Paintwork

If you choose a front-end PPF kit or selected-panel coverage, we can ceramic coat the remaining paintwork and discuss a compatible coating for the protected panels.

Ceramic Coating on Its Own

When PPF is not being installed, ceramic coating is our recommended starting level of everyday paint protection. It helps maintain the finish and makes the car easier to care for, although it does not provide the same physical protection against stone chips as PPF.

The Right Coating for the Surface

We select the coating to suit your paint or film, including gloss and satin finishes, and explain preparation and aftercare before installation.

Return Inspection, Care & Warranty

The Return Inspection Is Part of the Installation

Please arrange to return around day 10 after installation. In colder conditions, allow for an inspection no later than day 14. This check forms part of our installation warranty process and gives us the opportunity to inspect the film after it has settled.

In our experience, most temporary moisture marks clear by roughly ten days, although colder conditions can mean some areas take longer. Persistent marks need assessment. If an edge lifts, contact us promptly rather than waiting for the scheduled check: dirt can collect under an exposed edge and make the issue harder to address.

You are welcome to return with concerns so we can look at the installation with you. A covered fitting issue, a suspected manufacturer defect and damage from use or maintenance are assessed differently. We explain the appropriate response after identifying the cause.

Care & Warranty

Use the care instructions for the exact film installed on your car. Gentle washing, suitable cleaning products and prompt removal of contamination matter. Avoid abrasive cleaning and do not experiment with strong chemicals, polishing or coatings without checking compatibility first.

Manufacturer warranties are product-specific and have conditions and exclusions. A protective feature does not automatically mean the warranty covers every mark it may help resist. Water spotting, staining and gloss changes must be checked against the relevant terms. Installation warranty and manufacturer film warranty are separate, alongside your Australian consumer rights.

Our published PPF installation warranty provides two years of installation cover, subject to its terms. The 10–14 day inspection is compulsory under that warranty; checks every six months are recommended. Avoid automatic car washes and high-pressure washing.

      PPF Questions Customers Ask

Is PPF Worth Considering on a New Car?

It is worth discussing if keeping the paint in good condition matters to you. Installing film before the vehicle accumulates damage avoids having to assess new chips first, but even a new car should be inspected. We compare the coverage and cost with how you use the vehicle rather than apply a universal rule based on its price.

Can PPF Cover Existing Scratches or Chips?

The film does not repair them. Some fine marks may look less obvious, but deeper chips, dents and paint defects can remain visible. We assess the actual surface and discuss any preparation or repair before agreeing the result.

      Will I See the Edges?

Some edges can be tucked and others need an exposed finish. Panel geometry, film behaviour and access decide what is practical. We show you the likely exposed areas before installation rather than promise invisible edges everywhere.

Do You Just Install a Precut Kit?

We use pattern information as a starting point and review it before cutting. Practical adjustments can improve coverage and edge finishing. The installer still needs to fit the material to the car, manage tension and choose an appropriate finish around difficult areas.

Does Self-Healing Repair a Stone Chip?

Selected films can reduce fine topcoat marks under the manufacturer’s specified conditions. A deep cut, puncture or damaged paint beneath the film does not self-heal. Contact us if the film has been damaged so we can assess the affected area.

Does PPF Stop Dents & Every Stone Chip?

No. Impact size, speed and shape affect the outcome. The film is a sacrificial layer; heavy impacts and sharp debris can damage the film and the surface beneath it.

What Happens if One Panel Is Damaged?

We inspect the film and the paint beneath it. Replacing the affected panel’s film may be possible if the paint remains sound. Where paint or bodywork needs repair, that work comes first. Coverage under warranty depends on the cause, not simply on the presence of a damaged panel.

      Can I Add Ceramic Coating?

Some film and coating combinations are suitable, but compatibility and warranty terms need checking. A coating may make routine care easier; it does not replace PPF’s physical protective layer or remove the need to wash the vehicle properly.

What Should I Do if Moisture or a Mark Remains?

Let us know and keep the return inspection. Many temporary moisture marks settle as the installation dries, but a persistent mark should be assessed. Do not pick at the film or try an unapproved cleaner.

      How Long Does Installation Take?

Vehicle size, coverage, preparation and detailing affect the workshop time. We confirm the expected schedule with your quotation and booking. Extra preparation or a difficult finish should be allowed for rather than rushed to meet a generic turnaround promise.

How Long Will the Film Last?

That depends on the exact film, exposure, installation, storage and maintenance. A manufacturer warranty is not a guarantee against all damage throughout that period. We explain the applicable terms for the selected product.

How Do I Get an Accurate Quote?

Send the make, model, year, current paint finish and the coverage you have in mind. Tell us about repairs, coatings or existing film. Photographs help, and a vehicle inspection may be needed before the final scope and preparation are confirmed.
